911 GT3 Cup Challenge at Autosport International Show plus updates.

At the recent Autosport International Show, we had a 996 GT3 Cup car displayed on the Porsche stand in GT3 Cup Challenge livery, as shown here. We produced a newsletter which was distributed at the show and a copy is attached here.

Having a car on display allowed us to show the 2010 sponsor graphics including the new screen-header reflecting the fact that all cars will compete on the Michelin Carrera Cup slick, along with continued support from Rocket Graphics, PMC Midlands, Adidas, plus the re-introduction of Hine Marketing. It also allowed us and Porsche to talk to existing and potential competitors and explain what the cars are about.

The GT3 Cup challenge created a lot of attention and interest was all very positive, with many expressing a desire to join the series.

A number of competitors and teams expressed interest in trying to find suitable cars, while others stated they had cars available.

Although we did not have any Porsche Club Championship cars on display, there was also a lot of interest shown in the Championship, with people enquiring about the availability of cars.

Therefore, in order to try and bring potential buyers, sellers or renters together and help people find suitable cars – both for the GT3 Cup Challenge and for the Porsche Club Championship – can we ask that if anybody has a car for sale or for rental, they let us have details by e-mail. We can then try to put the various parties together and see about getting the information displayed on the website.

We will need a brief specification of the car, a couple of recent photos of it, plus price and contact details. If we get an enquiry, this information can be forwarded by e-mail. This has worked in the past and has resulted in cars being sold quite quickly. Equally, if you have cars for rental, in either series, this is useful information as we often get enquiries from potential competitors looking to rent cars.

Below are further copies of the draft 2010 regulations for the Porsche Club Championship and the recently announced Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. These were issued before Christmas, but a number of competitors seem to have missed them – so here they are again, along with copies of the respective series Registration Forms. We have now started to receive Registrations for both series and many telephone calls advising us of whose registrations are on the way to us.

For 2010 we will have three one-day meetings (two for GT3 Cup Challenge) and both series will visit Zolder in Belgium. We considered various options, but Spa is becoming very expensive and Zolder is a terrific ex-Grand Prix circuit with tremendous appeal and will find favour with all competitors who choose to enter for that round. All of the rounds will be Double Header events for both series, with the exception of the final round at Silverstone on the Grand Prix circuit. That meeting will be a Triple-Header.

There is only one event at which there will be no official round of the GT3 Cup Challenge – at Castle Combe in August. However, the Porsche –v- Ferrari race that proved so popular in 2009 will be run again, allowing the GT3 Cup cars to race at Castle Combe if they choose.
